The Arts & Crafts movement originated in London in 1888, inspired by the pre-industrial, rural design style of William Morris. Arts & Crafts is known for honesty of expression in workmanship and materials. Tables in the Arts & Crafts style are true to their inspiration: simplicity, honesty, and utility. They favor pure lines over baroque ornamentation, and lighter stains to accentuate the beauty of the wood grain.

The Artisan table was inspired by the famous turn-of-the-century Arts & Crafts Furniture Movement. Frank Lloyd Wright, among its leaders, guided the return to strong, handcrafted, beautifully simple design. The distinct horizontal and vertical lines, and flared legs of the Artisan table blend easily into any room décor.
